So, today is 9/11/10. Nine years after America was devestated, and a friend from school did a blog that made me stop and think...What am I thankful for? Honestly, Thanksgiving Day is 2 months away and I realized I don't have to wait until then to be reminded of what I am thankful for. So here it goes:
1. I am thankful for God. I may not show Him every day, and I am working on it, but that's why I am thankful, because He is an Awesome God and a forgiving God.
2. I am thankful or my Husband. We fight like cats & dogs, but in November we will have known eachother for 9 years, and he is still my Rock to lean on, a gift from God for sure. And without him I wouldn't have a wonderful set of in-laws to be thankful for.
3. I am thankful for my children. Though we of course don't always see eye to eye, they give me joy, and I am proud to tell the world they are my children!
4. I am thankful for my parents. For without them I may not know God, and I wouldn't have grown up know that family is important.
5. I am thankful for my job. Without it we may have starved.
6. I am thankful for my friends. They get me through tough times by being a shoulder, by being an ear, by telling me to put my "big girl panties on" and get over it. They make me laugh, they make me cry, and sometimes they just plain make me realize I am the "normal" one ;-)
7. I am thankul for Misty's blog today. It made me realize again that Phillipians 4:13 is still my favorite "I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me."
8. I am thankful for America. For the freedom to say as I please, do as I please, and know that there are men & women sacrificing themselves daily for those freedoms. I am thankful for all servicemembers past, present & future. Thank you Pawpaw Hinton & Grandpa Rood, thank you Daddy, thank you Jeffrey...and to all my other friends and family for your service.
9. I am thankful for Cami Franklin, for without her TJ would sit at daycare until who knows when, and for without her I wouldn't have found blogspot. Oh, and I wouldn't have been able to get dad to take great pics of Autumn in her yard otherwise ;-)
Lord knows I try daily to be a better Christian, Wife, Mother, Daughter and Friend. And I thank Him for giving me the opportunity daily.
It's amazing how just one day can make you realize that every day is Thanksgiving Day :-)

What a Week
Well this week has been one that has caused sheer exhaustion. I found this "blogspot" while talking with a very wonderful person. We have lived in our house for two years now, and I have been blessed to have the best landlord. I have great neighbors too. It's a quiet area in Middleburg, or "the Burg" as I so lovingly call it to annoy hubby :-) But this last week showed me that life is filled with Angels. I knew it, but sometimes you don't realize how many there are.
I mean, let's take this slow. Thomas is an angel on earth. Not because he is good (though he is), or because he is cute (and he definitely is), but because he knows just things.....like just when you feel like the world is crashing and you have that "fake grin" on and you try and hide it from your children because you don't want them to suffer, well he walks up and kisses you, or hugs you, or tells you he loves you, or that you are the "best." It reminds me of when he was little and my PawPaw (where "Jackson" of Thomas Jackson came from) was dying we traveled to Missouri, 15 hrs and he was so good the entire trip. We got there and he said I love you PawPaw and 10 mins later he passed. He had never met TJ until that time. Then during the funeral he sang "Jesus Loves Me" the whole time. He has a way of just comforting, and being those wings needed to hold you up. God put him in our lives, it's for sure.
Then there's Autumn, well this one, she has her own way of being an Angel. Her humor, NINJA that she is, lifts your spirits. But man, she knows how to knock you out of the park some times...Yesterday, I get home, and everyone else heads to the Jags game, and I go through her planner to check her homework, and she has written me a "love note." Don't laugh, and don't get the wrong idea, she simply wrote me a note that told me that I was the best mommy ever, that she greater than 3'd me <3 (makes a heart on facebook). And just really reminded me how blessed I truly am.
And of course Connor, the man! While he may live with his dad, he calls from time to time or texts and just reminds me that I the greatest mom and how much he loves me. I miss him terribly and there is a crack in my heart since he lives with his dad, but boy he is such a man!
And then, just when I thought I couldn't get any more angels in my life....there's my neighbor. In two years I have spoken to her on a couple of occassions, and our kids have played together....but this week I found another of life's angels in my life. My heart was breaking, I truly felt like nothing was going right in my life....and I showed up on her doorstep in tears. No working vehicles, and being told I would have to find another way for my son to get home from daycare b/c his own flesh wasn't going to do it any more....not his daddy, not his grampy....but someone else. Cami invited me in, I played Peekaboo w/her niece, and we talked. I didn't know what to do, and then I asked....would you be able to get TJ for me and bring him home to Autumn. And she said "yes." No question about it, she just needed the details of where to get him and when she could get him. She truly is a blessing.
Cami and her husband, Russell, who is a pastor, are starting a "Communication in your Marriage" class at the church where Russell preaches at the Beach. And if it wasn't so far away I would love for Jeff and I to attend. I will pray for their class and that the people attending are as blessed by Cami & Russ and I truly feel I am.
Cami shares her blogs on facebook, and I love to write, in fact I used to write poetry. So, here I am blogspot, telling you that life is full of angels, and sometimes their are right next door.
Goodnight :-)
